The rate depends on the locality and consists of two payments: the tax itself + a waste removal fee.
Let's look at the coastal area as an example:
- property tax 0.15% - 0.25%
- waste removal fee 0.15% - 0.3%
This adds up to 0.5% of the taxable value of your property (not to be confused with the value indicated in the deed).
When to pay?
You can pay in two installments:
* By June 30th - first installment
* By October 31st - second installment
If you pay the entire tax at once by April 30th, you receive a 5% discount.

If you're paying for your primary residence, you receive a 50% discount.
