Ukraine is preparing to launch a new international passenger train to Bulgaria. The route will pass through Romania and will be a joint project between the three countries, aimed at developing transport links and integrating them into European infrastructure.
The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development announced the launch of the test run. According to preliminary information, the first train could depart as early as summer 2026.
The idea for the route was discussed in Kyiv at a meeting between Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba and the Bulgarian Minister of Transport. The parties emphasized the high demand for this route and expressed their readiness to implement the project in the near future.
For now, route details remain unclear—specific stops, schedules, and ticket prices have not been announced. However, it is known that the train will travel through Romania.
The launch of the train to Bulgaria is expected to become another popular destination for leisure and business travelers.
