This September, Bulgarians can look forward to two public holidays:
September 6 — Unification Day. In 2025, it falls on Saturday, so Monday, September 8 — a day off.
September 22 — Independence Day. A holiday on Monday = another official day off.
In Bulgaria, if a holiday falls on a weekend, the next working day becomes a non-working day. So September promises two “gift” Mondays!
How to make the most of your weekend:
September 5–8 — take Friday the 5th at your own expense or on vacation, get 4 days off.
September 19–22 — similarly: Friday + official day off on Monday the 22nd = another long weekend.
Why it’s worth planning a vacation in September:
Advice: book accommodation and transport in advance, check the holiday schedule of establishments, and prepare for traffic jams on Friday and Monday when going to the sea.
